The Invasion of the Tearling by Erika Johansen

An amazing book which fully lives up to the promise of the first, although the plot seemed to move a little slower i was still captivated by the Tearling and everyone in it. Unlike the first the Invasion of the Tearling fetured a second female lead, Lily a pre-crossing woman dealing with her own problems and facing her own fears. Her story is beautifuly blended in to Kelsea's allowing readers to feel as though they are stepping through time in to a different world as easily as turning a page.

My only issue with the Invasion of The Tearling is that Kelsea's childish need to be in control causes her to lash out at herself and others diminishing the image of the powerful queen painted by the first book. All in all this is only a small issue and doesnt take away from the amazingness of the book , yet i still hope it will be different in the third book.

In conclusion The Invasion of the Tearling is a great book that only adds value to what will hopefully be an incredible trilogy, with the release of the next and apparently finale book supposedly to be released in summer 2016, fingers crossed it lives up to the first 2!
